Miles Pincus is a maritime restoration expert, James Beard nominated restaurateur, and serial entrepreneur.
Along with his brother, Miles has created multiple celebrated restaurants from “NYC’s Restaurant of the Summer,” The Yacht Club, to New Orleans’ “Seafood Restaurant of the Year,” Seaworthy. Miles is President of Crew, their family-owned hospitality and maritime operations group. In addition to leading their hospitality projects, he oversees Crew's Pier 25 Marina and their historic vessel restoration facility Heritage Marine Works.
Miles is currently directing the restoration of Coronet, the preeminent sailing yacht of the Gilded Age.
Prior to co-founding Crew, he led Atlantic Yachting, a sailing school and charter company he co-founded in 2006, and Clipper City, a harbor tour operation he co-founded in 2008 .
Miles has directed a large number of significant vessel restorations and rebuilds: The Sherman Zwicker, the last operable Grand Banks schooner in existence and the largest wooden ship in New York City; Pilot, America’s longest serving pilot ship; Governor Alfred E. Smith, the FDNY’s most recently retired fireboat; Margaret, the last remaining NYC Oyster Barge; Clipper City, the largest passenger sailboat in the U.S.; and Aurelia, a deep-draft, high latitude expedition schooner.
As a professional sailor, Miles has logged thousands of miles throughout the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Bahamas, and North Atlantic and Pacific Oceans aboard high performance racers, classic schooners, container-ships, and tankers. He has a Masters Degree in International Transportation and Trade Management with a focus Maritime Operations from the State University of New York Maritime College. Previously, he studied Business at the College of Charleston where he was the recipient of the Grooms Business Scholarship and studied Media and Information Technology at Tulane University.
He has been interviewed by the New York Times about New York Harbor, invited to discuss the marine industry on the Bloomberg Network, and has appeared as a special guest on the CBS National News to discuss offshore sailing.
