Montero Bar & Grill

Since 1939, Montero has been Brooklyn’s port of call for mariners, artists, and adventurers.

Filled with the spirits of sailors past and present, Montero stands as one of New York’s last storied waterfront bars and a living record of the city’s seafaring past. What began as a watering hole for sailors and longshoremen endures today as both a neighborhood treasure and a rollicking good time, with a free-flowing bar, a pick-up pool table, a cast of regulars, and live karaoke with Amethyst Thursday through Saturday nights.

Pepe Montero, son of founders Joseph and Pilar Montero, personally chose Crew to be the next generation of caretakers, and we couldn’t be more proud.

As the plaque on the wall says, we’re all here because we’re not all there.

Drinks

Sometimes you just want a cheap beer and a shot. And we’ve got it. Proper cocktails? We do that too. We even serve a decent glass of wine. Pick your poison.

Karaoke

For the last 18 years Amethyst has hosted Brooklyn’s most celebrated Karaoke experience. Join us Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for a boisterous sing off. If you can pull off Bohemian Rhapsody, you drink on the house.

It’s the perfect port of call for those days when you just want to keep it real with a bottle of Bud, a game of pool, and a genuine conversation with strangers.

The neon sign out front is iconic, and the pool table in back is always busy, but the place truly pops off on karaoke nights.
